Noel has always accepted the challenge of starting at the back of the field. By the end of the first lap he had passed several at the rear and then it started to get harder as the cars spread out. It's a fast track with only a few intricate turns to allow drivers to catch and pass. In a field of 27, he was soon at 16. Catching Chris Drake was the most difficult and he just passed him close to the end and hung on. He finished in 13th or 14th place and second in class. Time 2.19.1. An incredible result considering all his problems. The car sounded good and he came back smiling.
Sequel to the story: he went to collect the car from Parc Ferme, and it wouldn't start! He came back for a dipstick and petrol with fingers crossed. The dipstick came up dry! Not a drop of petrol left! He was so lucky not to run out before the finish line.
Hi Guys,
ReplyDeleteWell done with a finish at Monza.
It must have been an amazing experience!
How did 4speed go on the straights?
Have a safe trip further and hopefully your mechanical woes are ironed out now.
Regards
Mark
