Around Doussard

We are camped at the other end of the lake from the town of Annecy. It's quite beautiful and rural away from the main road. There is a cycle path built on an old railway line,  raised up and predominantly straight and flat.  It stretches 15k in one direction and all the way to Annecy in the other.

Off the main road, it is wonderful to bike and admire the views.  We also biked up to some small nearby villages. Alpine houses, peaceful and pretty with the ever present background of mountains.

We did a big shop at the local supermarket and biked back with backpacks and bike carriers full just before it rained.

We sat out under our awning and enjoyed french bread and ham, avocado and cheeses, watched the hangliders drift and thought how lucky we are.
