Noel worked for hours on the clutch, brakes and a few other things with great assistance from Robin. The last race for FJ came around just after 11am on Sunday.
Participating cars down to 19 on the dummy grid. I helped Noel with his helmet etc and then quickly helped Duncan who is here without Mair. The officials are quite particular about wearing a neck brace (HANS device) and it has taken Noel a while to get used to connecting his to his helmet by feel. The mechanism is quite stiff. Each driver has his own little routine while belting up and settling into the car.
Then they start their engines and are off to the grid. We all hurry to get a seat so we can watch an interesting corner as they come over the top of the hill.
Black clouds but no rain so far!
