The gearbox is actually OK!
The driveshaft that connects the engine to the geatbox is held in place by a drive pin that is 15mm long. The drive pin is held in place by a spring around the outside of the shaft. At high revolutions, the standard Renault spring has expanded allowing the pin to fall out, thus loosing the drive connection.
Dan Setford has modified this to overcome any further issues with that particular gearbox. He's bringing it with him to Monza.
Iain Rowley is bringing the drive shafts that Robin Longdon organized to have made within 2 days. This is as good as Auckland and a fantastic achievement in the UK!
Thanks everyone!
