Heinz Ramstorf was my first friend when I moved to Germany. We have kept in contact ever since. He married Nadine a few years back and we looked forward to seeing them again.
Heinz is now 90. Nadine speaks and understands some English while I translated best I could for Noel. So we all four of us managed to communicate.
Heinz treated us to a lovely midday dinner on the terrace of the gracious old Golf Hotel Kaiserin Elisabeth. We sat overlooking the beautiful grounds with just a glimpse of Starnberger See or lake. Later Nadine served us coffee and cake at home.
It was wonderful to see my old friend again!
