A most unusual dinner!

Jac Nelleman runs the Historic Grand Prix Copenhagen.  He seems to own half of Copenhagen. He drives a Junior and came out to New Zealand with the Formula Junior Tour at the beginning of the year. He really looks after the Junior family here. Our campsite is closest to the pits. We have a very good marquee and he checks on us regularly. He is not racing as he is doing the US series. He left his car there and flew back for this event.

Not only did we have an invitation to the Gala dinner on the first night but he also invited us to a most unusual dinner last night.

It's a garden project on top of one of Jac's buildings. At one end there is a glass house and at the other a cartainer elevator. We climbed outside spiral steps four floors up. A bit daunting for anyone in heels or with a fear of heights! We dined in the elevator.

A beautiful community vege garden kept by volunteers also supplies the "restaurant". You don't order: food comes, if somewhat slowly. We started at 8:20 and didn't finish until midnight. Many courses, mostly vegetarian accompanied by matching wines which were all organic, fruit based an mostly undrinkable for our group. Bottles of a Bordeaux red were found. Some of the dishes were also strange but everything was beautifully presented and explained by the staff.

We were driven there by Tim Nelleman, Jac's charming brother. Tim and his wife were delightful hosts.

At the end of the evening, we all remained seated and our container/elevator took us back down to the ground floor.

A night to remember! Thank you Jac!
