Lake Annecy

Stunning, craggy mountains rise out of the lake. We can watch from our camp site as hang gliders by the dozens step out from a green knoll high up on the mountain opposite, into thermal air and float, drift and turn until they finally come down at our end of the lake.

We have had our bikes out and enjoyed the lakefront and found a lovely restaurant that also does good coffees. Noel has an afternoon siesta / contemplates the menu.

Although there are already lots of people here, it is quiet and peaceful and the air is clear of petrol fumes.
