A weekend of R & R and giving Robin and Sue a break from us.
We travelled up to York on the Friday, giving us an opportunity to look in on some motorhomes on the way.
We had a lovely two days in York. We cycled along the river and into the city. Once there, it was difficult with the bikes but we found somewhere to tie them up so we could explore.
The York Minster must be one of the biggest and most beautiful Gothic cathedrals in the world. We took a tour with a very interesting and informative guide. It was awe inspiring - which I guess was the whole idea of building it back in the 13th and 14th Centuries.
Our camping ground was in Bishopsthorpe which is where the Archbishop has his palace.
There were so many people about as it was Saturday and the Shambles Markets were open all day. Music and people dressed up and parading through the streets. Great atmosphere.
