France starts on the UK side of the Tunnel with passport control etc.

We drove into the train and thirty five minutes later we were in Calais. How easy is that?

We parked up overnight in the huge Carrefour supermarket. When it opened at 9am the next day, we were in to stock up on French wines, cheeses, bread.

The wind was worse than in UK and Noel had to concentrate keeping the motorhome steady.  However, Lovely wide straight roads with little traffic compared to UK.

Along the way we stopped to sort out a banging noise which turned out to be the TV aerial which had been blown off and was hitting the side of the motorhome. Noel had to climb up and do some running repairs, with Robin holding the ladder.

After hours on the E17, we turned off, following Robin to the circuit, through beautiful French countryside.
