Noel had great start and got away from Marty.
On the third lap, still well in the lead, the engine cut out and the main battery cable broke, shorting out on the chassis.
The car stopped. Noel ran it onto the grass so the race could continue without the saftey car. Unfortunately, there were some large slumps in the grass and the car picked up half the paddock, fracturing the new fibreglass on both sides of the rear body work.
