Correction to diagnosis

Four small screws in the front housing  where the mechanical rev counter is driven from the front of the cam shaft, were slightly loose. We think that this has resulted in an oil leak at the front of the engine that has blown back into the bell housing. The fly wheel has then thrown the oil over the rear of the engine. It has caused us to think that the oil leakage problem is at the rear.

This is still a theory that is yet to be confirmed.

Suffice to say, that we ran the car today and there was no discernable oil leak. The engine was reved while the car was on stands and was inspected from below and all angles.
