All packed up and ready to go!

After 4 long days of bending over inside the box, slotting everything in and screwing down or tying down everything,  Noel finally can close the door of the box.

Carpenter at work.

Will he ever stop?

Loading up.

The car just fits in with back removed and rain light off. Noel screws down the spare engine which is slotted carefully between the front left wheel and nose. By the time everything is in there will be millimeters to spare.

Car friends.

Ken Woodburn and engineer Grant Bowring have been so helpful to Noel. They enjoyed seeing the car complete although probably know its not really the end.  Racing cars are a bit like boats!

Finished!

After weeks and weeks of working day and night,  Noel has finished the car. He has made it as reliable as possible and hopefully complied with all the regulations for Goodwood and European circuits. The car looks beautiful inside and out.

Historic Technical Passport

It has arrived!
Dated 29 May 2013.
For those of you who don't know,
it confirms that the car is eligible to compete in
FIA sanctioned events for historic vehicles. In other words, it is the genuine article.

Polished!

Paintwork touched up,
excess stickers removed,
new windscreen,
aluminium shiny and
body polished!

On the Dyno

Tested engine on the dynamometer today.
8,800RPM in 4th gear. Good you can't hear it!
Jason (sitting in car) has earmuffs of course.
Engine running really well.
Noel is a happy man!

Looking good!

Goes well but still more work to do.
Up this way might help.
Don't tell Sharyn. Keep it between us.

Advice from GLC

Another car friend, Graham who worked on the engine, came out to Pukekohe to check on it.

Testing at Pukekohe

An overcast day, first day of winter. Perfect for testing. Noel needs to make sure all the fine tuning he had been doing to the car works.
